Welcome to our cozy holiday apartment.Our holiday apartment is located in Vlatten-Heimbach, in the beautiful Eifel region. From here, you can start hikes as well as cycling tours. On a clear day, the view over the Börde allows you to see all the way to Bonn and the Seven Mountains as well as far over other open fields. The Rursee, which invites you for a stroll, is also nearby. In addition to historical attractions such as the Abbey of Mariawald or the Vogelsang Castle, there are also other recreational activities in the vicinity, such as an outdoor swimming pool or a wildlife park, and much more.

The holiday apartment "Zum alten Landrat" is located in the heart of the old town. It is a maisonette apartment with an internal staircase to the upper floor. The apartment is located in a listed quarry stone house. The rooms are spacious and bright. The partially exposed roof beams create a cozy atmosphere. In the sleeping area there are two double rooms and a triple room. An additional folding bed can be set up on an open gallery. The kitchen is large and fully equipped, including a dishwasher. There is a bathroom with toilet, sink and shower tray. There is also a toilet with sink. The living/dining area has satellite TV, radio with CD player and plenty of seating. There is space for bicycles in the entrance area of the house. The apartment is high quality furnished. The kitchen is fully equipped and offers, among other things, a dishwasher, a microwave, a refrigerator/freezer combination, a coffee machine, a citrus juicer, and a kitchen mixer. Upon request, a children's bed and a high chair can be provided. Most windows can be darkened with an electric roll-up blind. The terrace at the back belongs to the holiday apartment. There is a covered and cozy seating area as well as a table tennis table. A charcoal grill, including charcoal, is available. Children are also welcome to play in the garden (e.g. badminton, soccer). The holiday apartment is located near a bike path that invites you to enjoy beautiful tours.

Take a vacation within historic walls! Our vacation apartments are located in the over 250-year-old manor house of Vlatten Castle, in the middle of a beautiful park with old trees, medieval ruins and many enchanted corners.The history of the castle can be traced back to the Middle Ages. Initially, there were two castles in Vlatten: the upper castle and the lower castle. While the lower castle has disappeared today, the upper castle has survived over the centuries. The ruins from the 14th century, especially the impressive round tower, are now part of the picturesque park. In the 19th century, the castle was converted into a representative manor house; later, the residential building and the farmyard were separated by a wall. The two-winged residential building was given a historicizing tower on the east side in 1908.The castle changed hands several times over the centuries until it was finally bought at auction by the industrialist Julius Rüttgers from Berlin in 1882. He gave the castle to his daughter Emilie, wife of Major General Ernst Freiherr von Gagern, in 1883. The von Gagern family still live in the castle today. One well-known member of the noble family was Heinrich Freiherr von Gagern, president of the first German National Assembly in 1848, although he died three years before the castle came into the family's possession.Our vacation apartments are stylishly and comfortably furnished and ensure a pleasant indoor climate thanks to healthy building materials such as clay plaster and wood.
